The beginning of 2007 marks a milestone for ArtWorks Cooperative. ArtWorks Cooperative is now in its sixth year of promoting and marketing great art in the Aberdeen community. To mark this special occasion, the members of the ArtWorks Cooperative have decided to celebrate by having an all member showcase.
Currently, The ArtWorks Cooperative has greatly talented and varied artists as members. Presently, our members are: Nathen Cantwell, Kelly Face, Nick Fischer, Nicole Fischer, Pat Meacham Fries, Carol Weber Green, Stacey Lewno, Cheryl Olson, Dan Parsons, Shari Theroux, and C.R. Venegas. The art work displayed in the gallery is as unique and individual as each artist. Work ranges from pottery to photography, all types of painting, printmaking, calligraphy, handmade books and a wide assortment of handmade jewelry. Many of the artists also work on commission. This all member showcase is also great time to look back at the art which has been exhibited during the last five years. With that in mind, the current members of the ArtWorks Cooperative have invited back former Cooperative members to exhibit during the month of January. Those previous members who have all graciously accepted the invitation and will be exhibiting their works are: Erik Carlsgaard, Deb Many Carson, Ben Grote, Lee Leuning, Rebecca Mulvaney, Don Reshetar, Sherri Treeby, and Amy Woods.
A reception is planned for Thursday, January 11, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. This reception is free and open to the public. Artists who may be interested in joining the Cooperative are welcome to the reception to visit past and current members to learn more about the gallery.
The ArtWorks Cooperative is a partnership of visual artists. The Cooperative markets original artwork in their gallery located at 225 3rd Ave. S.E. and through their website at sdartworks.com.
