Ol West BBQ Sauce

02/20/2006

Big John’s Ol’ West Barbeque Sauce is a regional favorite and highly recommended by fans. In fact, rocker Ted Nugent refers to Ol’ West as “The ....oooz of the gods.” Homemade by Big John Collins of Mellette, SD (18 miles south of Aberdeen), Ol’ West is quickly becoming a favorite of restaurants around here.

Try it out at The Flame, Mavericks, Big Fellas, Lager’s, Schwan’s, The Bait Shop and the North 40. Then make your way over to Kesslers or Kens and pick up a few bottles.

I agree this is the best BBQ sauce around. Try adding a big glob of it when you are patting up hamburgers for a great homemade burger with flavor.

I can attest to the popularity of Ol West personally. Having been stocking grocery shelves for seven years. Typical bbq sauces will sell a case in about two or three weeks. The two other most popular sauces "Cookies" and "Famous Dave's" would sell about two cases a week.

Big John's Ol West Barbecue sauce sells typically TWO TO FOUR CASES A DAY!

I really like it. What are the little specks in it? Pepper? The secret seasoning? It takes great. Get it every Thursday night on Chicken on a Stick @ Lagers ...

This BBQ sauce is sweet in comparison to southern sauces. It sure made Robbie's ribs tasty.
